President of the Government receives President-elect of Paraguay

The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, hosted a working lunch at Moncloa Palace for the President-elect of Paraguay, Horacio Cartes. During the lunch, which took place in a relaxed and amicable atmosphere, the two leaders reviewed the excellent health of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The President of the Government used the meeting to confirm HRH the Prince of Asturias' intention to attend the ceremony at which the President-elect of Paraguay will take office and which will be held on 15 August.

The two leaders also agreed on their desire to continue working together in all areas, especially on economic and trade affairs.

Finally, they also discussed other issues related to the region and specifically mentioned the Pacific Alliance, an organisation in which both Spain and Paraguay are Observer States.
