The public is reminded of the importance of seeking information from official sources
Government of Spain promotes various channels of information following coronavirus outbreak in China
News - 2020.1.31
The Government of Spain has created the @SaludPublicaEs account on Twitter as a channel that will issue up-to-date information on issues affecting public health from all the ministerial departments involved, mainly the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, such as in this case.
This account will be used to provide up-to-date information and forward people to the pertinent areas for additional details. The account will also be used for the live broadcast of any appearances by experts, if deemed necessary, to report on changes to the situation in Spain.
At the same time, and in cooperation with Twitter, a new tool has been released as part of the commitment to protect public conversation on social media and ensure that people can quickly find information from authorised, reliable and expert sources for each topic. Whenever someone searches for certain keywords associated with the coronavirus, this tool will allow Twitter to show them a warning message directing them to the Ministry of Health website and the @SaludPublicaEs account.
