Some 20 Spaniards are currently in Wuhan, with whom the Spanish Consulate in Beijing is in permanent contact.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EU and Cooperation activated the crisis cell on Friday to monitor events as they unfold in China. This cell will closely monitor the development of the situation and coordinate contact with other ministerial departments, particularly the Ministry for Health, with the Spanish Embassy and Consulate in Beijing, with the Chinese authorities and with the Spaniards affected.
Various options are being studied at present to try and assist Spanish nationals in Wuhan, in coordination with other countries that also have nationals in the area.
