Highlights of his professional career include such posts as Director of Reina Sofía National Arts Centre Museum, Director of Casa Encendida in Madrid, Director of Fine Arts and Archives at the Ministry of Culture and Director-General of Cultural Assets of the Regional Government of Andalusia.

Until now he held the post of Director-General of the Montemadrid Foundation, which seeks to improve quality of life and the inclusion of people with social difficulties.

He is a trustee of the Federico García Lorca Foundation, of the Antonio Gala Foundation and of the Spanish Contemporary Engraving Museum of Marbella. He is also a guest lecturer of the Master's Degree in Cultural Management of the Carlos III University of Madrid.
