  • Bachelor's Degree in Economic Law from Deusto University. Joined the Judicial Service in 1988.

Professional experience

  • After several court appointments in Santoña (Cantabria) and Bilbao, including as President of Section 6 of the Provincial High Court of Bilbao, he moved to Court of First Instance Number 36 of Madrid in 2003, and in 2004 he joined the National High Court, providing services in different Central Investigation Courts, as Presiding Judge of Court Number 3 from 2007 to 2012.
  • In 2013, he was elected as President of the Criminal Division of the National High Court. Judge of the same Criminal Division on special service.
  • Elected as a member of the General Council of the Judiciary on its Standing Committee in November 2013.
  • Lecturer at the Legal Practice School of Deusto University and Law Association of Biscay.
