Government from November 21, 2023 to December 29, 2023

Following the general elections of 23 July 2023, the Lower House of Parliament grants its confidence with the support of the absolute majority to Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón, sworn in as President of the Government of Spain on November 16.

On 17 November, the Royal Decree confirming his appointment is published in the Official State Gazette (BOE). Pedro Sánchez takes the oath that same day before King Felipe VI at the La Zarzuela Palace.

On 20 November, the President outlines the composition of new Government and it was published in the Official State Gazette the following day.

On 21 November, Pedro Sánchez attends swearing in of cabinet members by King Felipe VI, and on 22 November chairs first Council of Ministers of 15th Legislature.

Government from December 29, 2023 to September 6, 2024

The Minister Minister for Economy, Trade and Enterprise, Carlos Cuerpo, the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, King Felipe VI, the First Vice-President and Minister for Treasury, María Jesús Montero, and the Minister for Digital Transfor

On December 29, 2023, the President of the Government announces the first renewl of the Executive of the 15th legislature.

As a consequence of the appointment of the First Vice-President of the Government and minister for Economy, Trade and Companies, Nadia Calviño, as the new director of the European Investment Bank, she ceases to hold her position and was replaced by Carlos Cuerpo.

The Fourth Vice-President of the Government and minister for Treasury and Public Function, María Jesús Montero, assumes the First-Vice Presidency of the Government, replacing Calviño. In turn, the Secretary of State for Public Function becomes part of the Ministry of Digital Transformation headed by minister José Luis Escrivá.

The Official State Gazette publishes on December 29 the Royal Decree with the three appointments and the restructuring of the ministerial departments and the vice presidencies of the Government. The ministers promise their positions before the King on the same day at the Zarzuela Palace.

The new Government is composed as follows:

Oscar López is sworn in as Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service before King Felipe VI

On September 4, 2024, the President of the Government announces the second renewl of the Cabinet of the 15th legislature.

As a consequence of the appointment of the Minister for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, José Luis Escrivá, as the new Governor of the Bank of Spain, he ceases to hold office and was replaced by Óscar López.

The Official State Gazette publishes on September 6 the Royal Decree with the appointment. The minister promise his position before the King on the same day at the Zarzuela Palace.
