The President of the Government of Spain takes part in Paris in the meeting on peace and security in Ukraine

The meeting brought together some 20 European leaders, along with representatives from Turkey and Canada, and the President of the European Commission, the President of the European Council and the Secretary General of NATO.

The president stressed the importance of maintaining pressure on Russia to consolidate a ceasefire that lays the foundations for a just and lasting peace. He also stressed that Ukraine's security is also Europe's security.

In this context, he stressed that maintaining support for Ukraine is essential at this time to strengthen its position in the talks being promoted by the US.

The meeting was a further show of support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and a renewed sign of unity among the Ukrainian people. It also reaffirmed Europe's commitment to contribute actively to making peace, once an agreement has been reached, permanent.
