Moncloa Palace, Madrid

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has held a meeting at Moncloa palace, accompanied by the Minister for Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, and the Director of the Office of Economic Affairs and G-20, Manuel de la Rocha, with the new President of the Spanish Association of Car and Truck Manufacturers (Anfac), Josep María Recasens, to address the challenges facing the sector, the executive's support for the automotive industry and its transformation, and the promotion of public-private collaboration.

During the meeting, the President of the Government conveyed the executive's firm commitment to work, together with the sector's associations, to guarantee the reindustrialisation and decarbonisation of the economy in the short and long term. For the government, decarbonising industry and mobility is an economic and social mandate, shared with the EU.

Pedro Sánchez and the new president of Anfac also agreed on the common will to continue promoting public-private collaboration in the deployment of electric mobility.

At the end of June, the government presented a new support package for electric and connected vehicles, which represents an additional effort to boost demand, including fiscal and economic measures and measures aimed at facilitating the installation of charging points, worth €626 million. In fact, the implementation of these new policies raises the amount of aid to promote electric mobility in Spain to €2.5 billion.
