The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has visited the facilities of the company Wallbox, in the Zona Franca industrial estate in Barcelona, where he highlighted the Government's commitment to promoting sustainable mobility and electric vehicles, with European funds from the Recovery Plan. The aim is to place Spain at the forefront of the automotive industry, a strategic sector for Spain, reaffirming Spain's leadership in the ecological transition and its capacity to attract investment.

The President of the Government of Spain, accompanied by the Minister of the Presidency of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Albert Dalmau, and the Government Delegate, Carlos Prieto, attended the demonstration of cutting-edge products from Wallbox, a Spanish company specialising in electric vehicle charging and energy management solutions.

In its firm commitment to sustainable mobility, the Government of Spain has deployed an important package of support measures, accompanied by a major investment effort. The Electric and Connected Vehicle (EV) PERTE -the Recovery Plan's strategic project for the development and manufacturing of electric and connected vehicles- has already committed funds of more than 3.776 billion euros, with more than 900 innovation and industrial projects. There are already around 50,000 charging points, funded under the MOVES II and MOVES III programmes.

Wallbox, a Spanish technology company that, with nearly a thousand employees, offers green solutions in more than 100 countries around the world, has received nearly six million euros in aid linked to the Recovery Plan and three PERTE VEC projects, in areas such as sustainable automotive, comprehensive transformation of the EV value chain and the programme Moves Singulares II.
