The President of the Government of Spain holds a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy

The President of the Government of Spain conveyed to him Spain's support in defending his country's sovereignty in the face of Russian aggression, pointing out that Ukraine can continue to count on Spain.

Pedro Sánchez emphasised the G5+ communiqué in which France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, the EU High Representative and the European Commission expressed the shared objective of continuing to support Ukraine until a just, comprehensive and lasting peace is achieved, guaranteeing the interests of Ukraine and our countries. Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine, and nothing about the security structure in Europe without the EU.

The President of the Government of Spain recalled that Spain and Ukraine signed a bilateral security agreement last year. The 10-year agreement covers various areas such as defence, security, peace and reconstruction.

Both leaders have indicated that they want peace, but that this war cannot end with an unjust peace agreement.
