The president said there is a need to increase funding for sustainable agriculture and food systems, and to explore the potential of climate and environmental finance for the prevention of global food and nutrition insecurity, with a particular focus on developing countries.
In this regard, Spain is a pioneer in the world in proposing the systematic inclusion of debt standstill clauses not only for climate catastrophes but also for food security crises and pandemics, to public and private actors.
Both agreed that these are issues of great interest that will largely underpin the objectives to be achieved at the Seville Conference.
