During the meeting, Pedro Sánchez highlighted the work of the Carolina Foundation and its sustained support for the Ibero-American and cooperation agenda. He also stressed that the Foundation is managing to increase the number of postgraduate and doctoral scholarships offered year on year, thanks to a solid public budgetary commitment that has grown in recent years.
The President of the Government of Spain highlighted the fact that the Carolina Foundation is a key element, in keeping with the philosophy of Spanish Cooperation, which aims to develop overseas action that is supportive, effective and committed to multilateralism and democracy based on technical, scientific and cultural cooperation.
Sánchez emphasised that the Foundation's contributions will be particularly relevant in the preparation of the IV International Conference on Financing for Development to be held in Seville at the end of June 2025, and also in preparation for the European Union-CELAC Summit to be held in Colombia in 2025.
Finally, the President of the Government invited the members of the Board of Trustees to reinforce their commitment to the Carolina Foundation, an excellent example of how public-private partnership works and produces results, while at the same time strengthening the bonds of friendship between Spain and Latin America.
