The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has chaired the constituent meeting of the Interministerial Commission for the development of urgent measures for the territory affected by the DANA, at Moncloa Palace.
The first meeting of the commission was attended by the First Vice-President and Minister for Treasury, María Jesús Montero; the Second Vice-President and Minister for Work and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz; the Minister for the Presidency, Justice and Parliamentary Relations, Félix Bolaños; the Minister for Defence, Margarita Robles; the Minister for Home Affairs, Fernando Grande-Marlaska; the Minister for Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente; the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas; the Minister for Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres (by telematic means); the Minister for Housing and Urban Agenda, Isabel Rodríguez; the Minister for Economy, Trade and Enterprise, Carlos Cuerpo; the Minister for Health, Mónica García; the Minister for Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and 2030 Agenda, Pablo Bustinduy; the Minister for Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, and the Minister for Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant (by telematic means).
The new Interministerial Commission will be responsible for the planning and development of urgent measures for the areas affected by the DANA, and for the coordination of the reconstruction and relaunching of the Valencian Community among all the relevant ministries, corresponding to phase two and phase three of the plan announced yesterday by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez. The new body is chaired by the Minister for Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, and its vice-president is the Minister for Home Affairs, Fernando Grande-Marlaska.
The Government is going to open up spaces for dialogue with the citizens affected by the hurricane, and with the affected local, provincial and territorial administrations. It has also adopted a series of mechanisms to strengthen cooperation with the autonomous governments affected by this emergency, in particular the Generalitat Valenciana.
