The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, took part in the commemorative events for 12 October, which were also attended by the King and Queen of Spain, the Princess of Asturias, various state authorities, members of the government and presidents of autonomous communities.

The army units, the Navy, the Civil Guard, the Military Emergency Unit, the Royal Guard, the State Security Forces and Corps and various Security, Civil Protection and Emergency Agencies took part in the land parade.

Joining the parade this year were the flags of Slovakia, Slovenia, Portugal and the Czech Republic. Together with Spain, these are members of one of the eight Battle Groups that make up the multinational brigade in the operation 'Enhanced Forward Presence' (EFP), which is responsible for reinforcing the eastern flank of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). The flag of the UN also took part, escorted by a picket, in honour of Spanish soldiers currently deployed abroad, especially those who are in southern Lebanon as part of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
