The President of the Government of Spain has conveyed to the Turkish president his satisfaction at the holding of the Eighth Intergovernmental Summit between the two countries, which will have an important economic and business content and from which substantive agreements are expected to be signed in a multitude of areas.

In this respect, Pedro Sánchez and Erdoğan agreed that the organisation of this summit is yet another example of the excellent bilateral relations between Spain and Turkey.

The two leaders also discussed Spain's decision to recognise the State of Palestine and agreed that this step should contribute to relaunching a political negotiation process that will allow a peace agreement to be reached that will put a definitive end to the violence, as well as the need to join forces with the international community to create the necessary context that will allow the two-state solution to materialise.
