The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has held telephone conversations with the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Taoiseach of Ireland, Simon Harris, to discuss the situation of the Middle East conflict.

The president expressed his appreciation for the mediation efforts made by Qatar to achieve an immediate ceasefire and the release of the hostages. He also reaffirmed Spain's commitment to the two-state solution and called for joint work within a framework of Euro-Arab action.

In this regard, the president spoke with the Taoiseach of Ireland to coordinate efforts to achieve recognition of the State of Palestine. Both leaders agree that a two-state solution is the only way to achieve a future of peace, security and stability in the region.

These talks are a continuation of the round of contacts that the president of the Government of Spain initiated with the main actors in the region, as well as with other European countries, in order to promote a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
