Moncloa Palace, Madrid

The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has held a meeting at Moncloa Palace with the Secretary General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Rebeca Grynspan, with whom he discussed the worrying situation of world food insecurity. Right now, 10% of the world's population is chronically hungry.

President Sánchez welcomed the work of the Global Crisis Response Group, coordinated by the Secretary of UNCTAD, which is playing an important role in addressing the three crises, affecting the areas of agriculture, finance and energy, arising from Russia's aggression against Ukraine, and which are being tackled comprehensively, with the United Nations at the centre. They also addressed the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development to be held in Spain in 2025.
