The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, and the Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa, have visited the José Saramago House Museum on the eve of the thirty-fourth summit between Spain and Portugal, during which agreements will be signed that will further strengthen bilateral ties.

During the visit, with both leaders accompanied by their respective Ministers for Culture, Pedro Sánchez highlighted the lucidity and social commitment of the Portuguese writer and Nobel Prize winner for Literature, who lived on the island of Lanzarote for 18 years.

The Portuguese Prime Minister gave the President of the Government the book 'Journey to Portugal' by José Saramago, and President Sánchez gave his counterpart a copy of 'Lanzarote, unpublished architecture' by César Manrique.
