Mariano Rajoy receives President of Regional Government of Cantabria

The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, received the President of the Regional Government of Cantabria, Miguel Ángel Revilla, at Moncloa Palace, within the round of meetings being held with the new regional presidents following the elections on 24 May.

Mariano Rajoy and Miguel Ángel Revilla used the meeting to tackle issues of special interest for Cantabria, such as improvements in the railway link with Madrid - both for passengers and for goods - and the various road infrastructures, financing for Valdecilla Hospital, the re-industrialisation of the district of Torrelavega and the dairy sector.

They also spoke about the situation in Catalonia following the resolution proposal presented by two political parties to the Regional Parliament of Catalonia to initiate a process to create an independent Catalan State.
