Statement by President of the Government in Lower House of Parliament following first session of debate on the whole Draft 2017 General State Budget

President of the Government.- The goals are what are important. I said at the start of this term of office that our intention over these four years was to continue with economic growth and job creation. That is happening and this Budget serves to enhance this economic growth - and continue with job creation - let's wait and see the figures for this month of April, but I believe we are heading down the right path - and this will all lead, as the minister also said in his speech, to a major increase in tax revenue, which will allow us to spend more on pensions, healthcare and education, and hence on the problems that truly interest our citizens.

Hence I believe that this is a good Budget, I hope we can approve it in this House and we will then get to work on drafting the Budget for 2018.
