Q.- What do you think about what Obama said on Wednesday?

President of the Government.- I fully share the words spoken by the President of the United States which are, to a certain degree, very similar to what the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, David Cameron, and the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, said not long ago. That is, I want to see a strong and united Spain; I want to see a Spain that acknowledges our shared past: we are the oldest country in Europe, and have been so for many centuries. We have gone through many things together and the last 40 years have been particularly positive for all of us. And hence, I will work to see a strong and united Spain, that is part of Europe, and in which no-one loses their rights and in which everyone can enjoy their triple status as Europeans, Spaniards and citizens of their own region.

Hence, these statements are positive. This is the way the world is going. We are living in a period of integration and not of division. We are increasingly transferring powers over to supranational institutions. And, from this point of view, what Mr Obama said is that which the vast majority of leaders throughout the world believe.

Thank you very much.
