From the very first moment, the Air and Space Army placed itself at the disposal of the EMU, which has operational command of the emergency situation, and since then, contact and coordination have been ongoing to deal with the consequences of the DANA.

The troops sent to Valencia are taking part in rescue work, reconnaissance of the terrain and the transfer and distribution of food, water and basic necessities.

One of the capabilities of the Air and Space Army, which is key in this case, is the production of satellite images of passable areas such as bridges and land communications between municipalities, a resource that has provided information about localities such as Torrent, Buñol and Chiva, among many others.

The minister thanked them for the work they are doing and for lending their skills: "We are proud of you and the safety you provide to our neighbours when you are deployed in any circumstance, and even more so in a dramatic case like this one".

"You are synonymous with efficiency, speed and humanity. Thank you for your professionalism and for the great work you are doing".

The Air and Space Army troops are housed at the 'Jaime I' Military Base in Bétera, where all deployed military personnel are centralised, thereby facilitating command, minimising the logistical footprint and optimising resources.
