On 13 September, the Social Security registered 21,211,297 contributors, the second consecutive day that the 21.2 million mark was exceeded. This is 88,783 more employed people than at the end of August this year.

Stripping out seasonality and the calendar effect, 351,453 jobs have been created since the start of 2024, a figure in line with pre-pandemic levels to stand at 21,194,389, with an increase of more than 26,000 people in the last two fortnights.

With data up to 13 September, the total number of contributors has increased 475,196 in the adjusted series, in the last year, and 1.84 million people since before the start of the pandemic.

The Minister for Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, stresses that: "The daily contributor figures are once again above 21.2 million employed people in September, demonstrating the strength of our labour market".
