At this event, organised by the Ministry of Equality, 94 medals were awarded to people who contributed to the legislative approval of the Organic Law on Comprehensive Protection Measures against Gender-Based Violence (LOVG).

The commemoration also featured several round-table discussions, one of which was led by the former President of the Government of Spain, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, and the Minister for Equality, Ana Redondo, who referred to the law "as a pioneering law with which Spain made history".

Another of the round-table discussions, under the title "It's not just a law, it's a social demand", was attended by representatives of social movements, politicians and victims' representatives. It was attended by Mariví Monteserín, the Member of Parliament and presenter of the law in Congress; María Durán de Themis for the social movements; and Raquel Orantes, representing the victims.

During the anniversary, a solemn tribute was paid to the female victims of male violence in the last 20 years with the names of all the murdered women being featured in a projection, accompanied by an artistic performance by the poet Elsa Moreno.
