Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, with the UK Foreign Minister, David Lammy, and the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Maros Sefcovic
This was the third meeting at a political level and the first meeting in this format with the new UK government.
Building on the significant progress achieved at the meetings of 12 April and 16 May, today's talks have been constructive and productive, resulting in further progress on complex negotiating issues, in particular on issues related to people and goods.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment to reach an EU-UK Agreement that will bring confidence, legal certainty and stability to the people of the whole region, safeguarding the legal positions of each side.
They have agreed to remain in constant contact and for the teams to work closely and intensively on outstanding issues.
