On 15 May, the Social Security recorded 21,327,711 contributors, thus exceeding the 21.3 million employed for the third consecutive day and reaching the highest level in the daily series. This is 244,818 more employed than at the end of April. Since 3 April, the series has remained above 21 million.
Disregarding seasonality and the calendar effect, 263,653 jobs have been created since the start of 2024, a figure in line with pre-pandemic levels. Seasonally adjusted average contributors has increased in the last two fortnights by almost 52,400 people.
With data up to 15 May, the total number of contributors has increased by about 479,500 in the last year and by 1.75 million people since before the start of the pandemic.
The Minister for Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, stresses that "we consolidated the level of 21 million Social Security contributors in the first part of May and exceeded 10.1 million employed women. This is evidence of the strong dynamism of the labour market.
