Advance bookings for international flights for March total 8.5 million, 13.6% more than a year ago

The Minister for Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, said that "the data confirms the good start of the year for the tourism sector, in line with the forecast for arrivals and spending that suggests a significant improvement in this first four-month period with respect to the already historic figures of 2023".

The total number of seats booked on international flights to Spain for March 2024 is 8.5 million, according to data released today by Turespaña. Compared to the same month in 2023, when 7.5 million were offered, the year-on-year increase is 13.6%.

Comparing the forecasts for the number of seats in March 2024 with the data recorded for the same period in 2023, the good performance of the main outbound markets to Spain continues: the United Kingdom (+7.2%), Germany (+17.3%) and Italy (+21.6%).

Also noteworthy are the sharp rises in Poland, up 83.8%, Czechia, up 53.1%, and Austria, up more than 26.3%.

Markets such as Ireland, Colombia and Turkey also show significant increases of more than 10% for the month of March.
