The Situation Committee is coordinating the implementation, execution and monitoring of the measures agreed at EU level

This body, which supports and advises the National Security Council and the President of the Government of Spain, has adopted an agreement to coordinate the implementation and monitoring of restrictive measures against Russia and support for Ukraine agreed in the European Union and, therefore, in line with our European partners.

This is a set of measures to be implemented by the different ministries within the framework of their competences, including the closure of airspace to Russian aviation, the prohibition of transactions with the Central Bank of Russia, the cessation of broadcasting by Russia Today, Sputnik and other Russian media, and the proposed exclusion of a list of Russian banks from SWIFT. Measures have also been taken to support Ukraine, including assistance for military equipment within the framework of the European Union and under the European Peace Facility.

All these measures will be evaluated by the Situation Committee, which will continue to meet on a regular basis and will analyse the impact of these initiatives and any new ones that may need to be adopted, always in coordination with the European Union.
