The Ministry of Health extends health control measures to passengers from high-risk countries for COVID-19 at entry points to Spain
News - 2021.12.29
Thus, for people from high-risk countries, and as has been implemented in other EU countries, as of 30 December, a negative diagnostic test certificate and, in addition, a certificate of vaccination or recovery will be required.
In addition, from 1 February 2022, vaccination certificates issued more than 14 days after the date of administration of the last dose of the full vaccination schedule will be accepted as valid, provided that no more than 270 days have elapsed since the date of administration of the last dose.
The Spain Travel Health (SpTH) application for border control of travellers will therefore allow people coming from high-risk countries to provide two certificates, one being a diagnosis of active infection and the other a diagnosis of vaccination or recovery, generating the corresponding QR, and from 1 February 2022, it will apply the 270-day validity period to vaccination certificates.
The lists of risk and high-risk countries or areas are published on the Ministry of Health website: https://www.mscbs.gob.es and on the SpTH website: https://www.spth.gob.es.
