These additional security controls are related to electronic devices and may be implemented at the departure gate of all flights to the United States. In principle, this should not lead to delays, but the airline should be consulted as to whether the time that the departure gate is open has been extended. These additional measures only affect those airports that are the last point of departure before heading to the United States (Adolfo Suarez Madrid- Barajas, Barcelona- El Prat and Malaga-Costa del Sol).

Inspections will be carried out by security companies accredited by the Ministry of Home Affairs and contracted by the airline, and security officers will be trained according to the provisions established by EU and national law to carry out security inspections at airports.

Private security companies will act under the supervision of the Guardia Civil, which will carry out subsequent security checks as and when necessary. If it is determined that an electronic device is not suitable for the flight, it may not be taken on board the aircraft.
