The companies of those arrested, whose headquarters are being searched by the Guardia Civil, are related to companies based in various countries whose common denominator is the participation of the Egyptian arrested last Saturday in El Espinar, Segovia.

Following the arrest of the two men, the agents of the Intelligence Service of the Guardia Civil are searching their homes and three commercial warehouses to collect documents and other evidence that prove the alleged criminal activity engaged in by those arrested.

The surveillance activity of the Intelligence Service of the Guardia Civil has allowed the location of the Egyptian citizen, resident in Germany, for whom an International Arrest Warrant has been issued by the authorities of his country. The man's connections with Spain have led the investigators to discover the involvement of those now arrested with a network of companies whose profits could have been used to fund the activity of a terrorist group.

This operation once more highlights the cross-border nature of the terrorist phenomenon, and also demonstrates the need for international collaboration in the fight against terrorism, in which our country is playing a strategic role.

Since 26 June, 2015, the date on which the Ministry of Home Affairs raised the Counter-Terrorism Alert Level to level 4 (Spanish acronym: NAA-4), law enforcement agencies have arrested a total of 157 Jihadist terrorists in operations carried out in Spain and abroad, and a total of 202 since the beginning of 2015.

The Ministry of Home Affairs sends out a reminder that, through the initiative STOP RADICALISMOS, citizens can collaborate through a series of channels open to them so that, in a confidential and secure manner, they can notify the State law enforcement agencies of possible cases of radicalisation in their vicinity through the web page www.stop-radicalismos.es, the mobile phone app for citizen security Alertcops and the free hotline 900 822 06.
