Spain offers its support to new Special Representative for Libya of United Nations Secretary-General

The Government of Spain takes the opportunity to acknowledge the efforts, the personal commitment and dedication, and the excellent work carried out by the outgoing Special Representative, Bernardino León, in facilitating the process of political dialogue and the formation of a National Unity Government in Libya, to lead to reconciliation and unity as a previous and necessary step to returning peace, stability and prosperity to the country.

Spain reiterates its readiness to support this new government, which must re-launch the democratic transition and overcome the political, economic and security crisis in which Libya is currently immersed.
