At the ceremony, held in the Audience Hall of Zarzuela Palace, the Speakers of the Lower House of Parliament, Ana Pastor; of the Upper House, Pío García-Escudero; the Presidents of the Constitutional Court, Francisco Pérez de los Cobos, and of the Supreme Court and of the General Council of the Judiciary, Carlos Lesmes, attended, together with the President of the Government.
The first minister to be sworn in was the Minister for Justice, Rafael Catalá, who then exercised his position as the Commissioner for Oaths of the Kingdom of Spain. The rest of the members of the government were then sworn in before a facsimile of the Spanish Constitution open on Title IV, which deals with the government and the public administration, displayed next to a crucifix and a copy of the Bible published in 1791 and dedicated to Carlos IV.
Once the ceremony was concluded, all of the members of the new government posed together with the King, who congratulated them on their appointments. Following that, the new government headed off to Moncloa Palace where the official group photo of the government was taken prior to the Council of Ministers.
