The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, received the President of the Regional Government of Valencia, Ximo Puig, at Moncloa Palace. The meeting is framed within the round of contacts that Mariano Rajoy is holding with the new regional presidents following the elections on 24 May.

Mariano Rajoy and Ximo Puig tackled issues of an economic nature such as the disbursement of funds under the Regional Liquidity Fund (Spanish acronym: FLA) to be allocated to the Region of Valencia, the General State Budget for 2016, State investment in the region, the system of regional financing and the historic debt.

Furthermore, they tackled other issues of a social nature, such as the problem of gender-based violence and collaboration in taking in refugees.
