​Mariano Rajoy attends National Security Council meeting chaired by HM the King

The meeting was also attended by the Vice-President of the Government, Minister for the Presidency and Government Spokesperson, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría; the Minister for Justice, Rafael Catalá; the Minister for Defence, Pedro Morenés; the Minister for the Treasury and Public Administration Services, Cristóbal Montoro; the Minister for Public Works, Ana Pastor, and the Minister for Industry, Energy and Tourism, José Manuel Soria.

The National Security Council is a collegiate body of the government tasked with assisting the President of the Government on this issue, promoting and encouraging reviews of the security strategy, verifying its degree of compliance, leading and coordinating crisis management and establishing the guidelines necessary on issues of the planning and coordination of the national security strategy.

The National Security Council agreed to pass the National Energy Security Strategy 2015.
