President of the Government attends swearing in of Íñigo Méndez de Vigo as Minister for Education, Culture and Sport

Zarzuela Palace, Madrid

The new Minister for Education, Culture and Sport was sworn in before King Felipe VI in the presence of representatives of the three State powers. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Government, the Vice-President of the Government, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, and the Minister for Justice, Rafael Catalá, who acted as the commissioner for oaths.

From 28 December 2011 to date, Íñigo Méndez de Vigo was State Secretary for the European Union. He was also President of the European Parliament Delegation at the Convention on the Future of the European Union and European Parliament representative at the Inter-Governmental Conference that approved the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe.
