The government recalled that this rectification takes place a week after the announcement of the date and the question to be asked at the unilateral referendum that the Regional Government of Catalonia has decided to hold on 1 October.

Such an erratic approach leads us to insist on Mr Puigdemont explaining the unilateral path he has chosen to Parliament, as well as the content of the so-called Transience Act on which they are working, as well as each and every one of the decisions he intends to adopt if the State does not comply with their demands.

Lastly, the government considers that Mr Puigdemont cannot impose any conditions on the parliamentary format of his appearance, which corresponds to the Lower House to decide on, and far less erect barriers to the Lower House giving its opinion through a parliamentary vote, because votes are precisely the way in which the legitimate representatives of national sovereignty express their political position on affairs that affect the people of Spain as a whole.
