Meeting between Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and Head of Delegation of Colombian Government at dialogue in Havana

Spain has supported the peace efforts made by Colombia, both now and in the previous processes, at a political level, through Spanish Cooperation, through the EU, at a multilateral level and in demining.

Spain also takes part on the ground in the UN Verification Mission, with 18 unarmed observers, complying, furthermore, with the 20% quota of women requested by the UN Secretary-General.

Minister Dastis was able to see firsthand the development of the process of concentration and the laying down of weapons by the FARC, as well as the regulatory architecture to apply the Peace Agreement.

Alfonso Dastis and Humberto de la Calle also reviewed the state of negotiations with the ELN guerrillas.
