The International Organisations Careers Fair, which started back in 2004 with the aim of sharing ideas and good practices on this issue, now constitutes the most prestigious forum for human resources on the multilateral agenda. 200 human resources professionals from more than 80 international organisations are due to take part in this edition, including the main United Nations organisations and agencies, together with the EU, NATO, the OSCE, the Council of Europe and the International Red Cross, among others, which in total employ some 250,000 people. The work meetings, which will be held at the Diplomatic School, will be inaugurated by the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ignacio Ybáñez.

At the Job Fair, which will take place at the Puerta de Toledo campus of the Carlos III University, some 30 international organisations, including financial institutions, the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) and United Nations agencies and funds, such as the UNDP, UNICEF and the WHO, will give talks and hold workshops with the aim of publicising opportunities in the sector and reporting on the profiles, requirements and channels to gain access to work at a multilateral level to potential candidates. This fair represents an opportunity for the more than 3,000 registered participants to see firsthand the present and future needs of international organisations, the recruitment processes and the ways to acquire experience to become candidates to these positions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has an International Public Servant Unit, which falls under the Directorate General of the United Nations and Human Rights, which has an extensive database of people interested in working for international organisations, to whom it sends periodic information and alerts on rounds of offers and job opportunities, adapted to their profiles, at international organisations. It issues a weekly bulletin that can also be viewed at the web page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and through its social networks.
