Press statement from Ministry of Home Affairs on false information regarding possible attacks in Spain

In light of the information being spread via various social networks and other communication channels (WhatsApp), the Ministry of Home Affairs clarifies that:
The information being spread via certain social networks and other communication channels such as WhatsApp on a possible attack in Spain lack all credibility and only seek to cause a state of fear in the population and of public alarm and for other malicious purposes which are entirely unrelated to security.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Home Affairs has not modified the Terrorism Warning Level (Level 4 - High Risk), set on 26 June following the terrorist attacks in France, Tunisia, Kuwait and Somalia.

Any modification to the Terrorism Warning Level, the arrest of terrorists or commission of an attack will always be broadcast by the media and made public through the habitual and official channels of the Ministry of Home Affairs (www.interior.gob.es) and the State law enforcement agencies (National Police and Guardia Civil).
