The 46-man strong Emergency Military Unit (Spanish acronym: UME) arrived in Delhi on Sunday and deployed to Kathmandu on Monday. The team includes 6 rescue dogs and support material. The planned operation includes an action plan that will allow the worst affected areas to be covered, particularly focusing on the area of Langtang.

All European Union and Latin American countries have been given the opportunity of evacuating their nationals on the UME's Boeing 707. This plane left Kathmandu with a search and rescue team and returned to Delhi with four Spaniards and several people of other nationalities on board.

The search and rescue teams deployed in the Langtang Valley are entrusted with rescuing all those people they find of all nationalities.
